Evelyn Burrell Funn

Evelyn Burrell Funn also known as ‘Bay’ went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 22, 2021. She was born in New Kent County Virginia, and was the daughter of the Late Walter Edward Burrell Sr. and Carrie Street Burrell. Evelyn Attended Schools in Accomack County and graduated from G. W. Watkins School in New Kent Virginia. Evelyn was preceded in death by two sisters Doris Gardner and Josephine Brooks, Four brothers; Louis ‘San’ Burrell, Howard Burrell, Walter ‘Son’ Burrell, Ira ‘Ty’ Alfred Burrell, Nephew Keith Hope and Grandson Christopher Martel Adkins. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories her Husband, James Edward Funn Sr., Son, James E Funn Jr, Daughters, Kathy Adkins (Robert) and Karen Christian (Alex). Three Grandchildren, Brandon Funn (Ashley), Enrico Adkins (Loreyna) and Erika Christian and Granddaughter in-law Mary Adkins. Six Great Grandchildren: Dorrian, Arianna, Zaiden, Kyrie, Addison, and Levi. Sisters, Essie Cary (Howard), Brenda Wilder and Dianne Pollard., Brothers, David Burrell (Joan), Robert Burrell (Adrienne). Sisters-in-law, Delores Law (Clarence), Grace Ann Funn, Rebecca Burrell, Jane Burrell and Phyllis Burrell, and other Family Members and Friends. Evelyn was a Dedicated Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She served on the Willing Workers, Finance Ministry and Senior Choir at Elam Baptist Church for many years. In her early years, Evelyn and Edward enjoyed Traveling on the Motorcycle and also traveling with Family. She loved to work outside in the flower garden, sitting in her Gazebo Reading Novels and Writing Poems. She also loved to cook and was known for her Potato Salad and Corn Pudding. Evelyn also loved to watch Westerns especially Gunsmoke and most of the shows on the food network. She will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing and loving her, but she has left us with so many wonderful memories to cherish. A funeral service will be held 1PM Saturday, March27, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge, VA.
