Florence Smith Morris

Florence Meads Smith Morris, born May 14, 1928 to the late Luther Seabrook and Ruth Elizabeth Smith at Old Field Point in Moon, VA., passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at her home in Little Plymouth, VA. Florence’s legacy will be her love of children and devotion to her Lord and family. Florence was preceded in death by her husband E. Ray Morris, a grandson, Everett Ray Rich, mother-in-law Sudie Temple Carlton Morris, brother-in-law Carroll Morris, her sisters Katherine Traylor, Jessie Lee Hudgins, Harriet Ann Farmer, Ruth Elizabeth Drew, Lucy Groome, Mary Virginia Love; and brothers Wm. Luther Seabrook Smith, David Walter Murden Smith. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ruth Temple Morris Carlton (William Davis) of Little Plymouth, Mary Katherine Morris Rich (Jerry) of Glenns, David Ray Morris (Doris) of Little Plymouth, Paul Barrington Morris (Bonnie), of Mattaponi, Jessie Meads Morris McGrath (Joe) of Heathsville, Seabrook Smith Morris (Sarah) of Quinton, Barbara Carol Morris Wyatt (Marty) of West Point, William “Billy” Carroll Morris (Marcey) of Little Plymouth, Joseph “Joe” Warner Morris (Lori) of Little Plymouth, and James Arnold Morris of Little Plymouth. Also grandchildren David E. Morris, Ruth E. Morris West, Stephanie M. Rich, Travis B. Morris, Joshua G. Morris, Edward Morris, Helen Grace Morris, Jessica E. Wyatt, William (Billy) D. Wyatt, Mary K. Wyatt, Andrew Morris, Jonathan L. Otto, Elizabeth Morris, James W. Morris, Katelin McCloud, Zebulon Morris, Noah Morris, Jeremiah Morris, Louis Hoffer, Jr.; great-grandchildren Holden West, William Cole West, Jack Morris, Cameron Morris, Matthew Morris, Kaylee Morris, Kelsey Morris, Karlie Morris and Christine Brooke Wyatt; a sister Joice B.S. Davis, a brother James Wickham Smith (Carolyn); a sister-in-law Cordelia Morris Ashworth (Thomas) and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22 at Vincent Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA. Burial will follow in Lower King & Queen Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
