James Railey,

James “Lloyd” Railey Sr of Millers Tavern, Virginia died suddenly on January 14th, in Manchester, New Hampshire. Lloyd graduated from Meadowbrook High School. He graduated from UVA in 1972. Lloyd spent his entire working career in banking with his last job being as interim CFO with Members First Credit Union. Lloyd was avid fan of his alma mater UVA aka“4UCAVS” and he always rooted for his precious Boston Red Sox “GO SOX”. He is survived by his wife, Betty Railey; his children James, Jr (Dawn) of Louisa Va, Robin Youman (George) of Mechanicsville, William P Railey (Kelley Koepp) of North Carolina; his stepchildren Jennifer Fowler (Joel) of Mechanicsville, Crystal Brewster of Millers Tavern and George Hersey (Tiffany) King William. His is also survived by his brother William “Skeeter” Railey (Sheila) of Chester; his sisters, Margaret Railey of North Carolina and Kim Dandurand (Donavan) of North Carolina. He was affectionately known as “Grandfather” to Kendall, Emily, Millie, Julia, Bryson, Grace, Gabriel, Jaszmyne, Jayda, Jescika, Collin “Cool Hand Luke” and Justin. His is also survived by his nephew Craig Railey, nieces Terri Lynn Railey, Brooke and Sarah Dandurand and his mother-in-law, Irene Kacmarski of West Point. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday January 21 at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, VA. Burial following 1 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Virginia Athletic Foundation , P.O.
