Judy L. Jones

Judy L. Jones entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2019. She was born December 14, 1954 to R. E. Stanley Lewis and the late Marion Frances Jackson Lewis. She was predeceased in death by her loving sister, Deborah Shaw and her dear friend, Eric M. Jones, Sr. Judy grew up and attended the public schools in Culpeper, Virginia. Upon graduating from High School, Judy worked at the Orange Co. Nursing Home along with her mother. She furthered her education at UVA and Virginia State University. However, she decided to follow her passion for nursing for which she did for 40 years. Judy worked endless hours and was totally devoted to her nursing career. She will be missed by all the individuals she cared for and worked with. Some of the facilities where Judy worked include JRMC, The Masonic Home of Virginia, DaVita Dialysis, Gainesville Health & Rehabilitation Center, Riverview Health & Rehabilitation Center, Tyler’s Retreat and others. Judy accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Main Uno Baptist Church in Rochelle, Virginia and also attended New Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Whiteshop, Virginia. Later in life, she joined St. John Baptist Church where she sang in The John E. Jones Memorial Choir and was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of the late Rev. Eddie L. Perry, Sr. Judy loved attending church service. She also enjoyed Vacation Bible School where she once served as Director. She also acted as a standby nurse in the Church. Judy married Eric M. Jones, Sr. on May 22, 1982. They were blessed with one son, Eric, Jr. Judy had a jovial spirit and loved to be around family and friends especially the Sunday family gatherings. Judy leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving son, Eric (Christina), father, R. E. Stanley Lewis, Sr., brothers, Stanley, Jr. (Yolanda) and Michael Lewis, sister, Carla Lewis, aunt, Annette Louise Morris (Anthony), nieces, nephews, extended family members, Thomas E., III (Sylvia) and John (Gracie) Jones, Geraldine Womack (William), Kathy Jones, Evelyn Crawley, the Holland Family and a host of cousins and dear friends. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30th, at St. John Baptist Church, 8131 Roxbury Rd, Charles City, VA. A visitation will take place from 6-8p.m. Friday, March 29 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA.
