Linda Shirlene Christian-Pierce

On Wednesday, July 29, 2015, God called home to eternal rest our beloved Linda Christian-Pierce. Her life began on May 20, 1958, born of the union of Wilmon Ashland Christian Sr. and Hazel Marie Adkins. She was preceded in death by her mother Hazel M. Christian. Linda professed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lanexa, Virginia where she served faithfully as an usher, and later as the church clerk until her passing. She attended the New Kent County Public School system, matriculated later to Howard University in Washington, D.C., and returned home to pursue a degree at Virginia Union University. She worked several years as an assembly technician for AT&T prior to her 26 year career as a secretary in the Public Relations and Media Service department at the County of Henrico. Linda was an outstanding employee for Henrico County and she wholly enjoyed her work there. She was the recipient of many awards for her continuous and loyal service. Among her many past times she enjoyed attending drag car races, softball and football games, cooking big meals for her family, especially her nieces and nephews during the holidays, and spending quality time with her closest friends. Linda was an avid reader. She enjoyed a variety of books and literature, but perhaps her greatest enjoyment was simply reading her newspaper in the quietness of her home. She leaves to treasure blessed memories her one and only beloved son, James Pierce Jr., her loving and devoted father, Wilmon A. Christian Sr., five brothers, Wilmon A. Christian Jr. (Sharonett), Ronald Christian (Denise), Glen Christian (Alisa), Barry Christian (Sepora), Michael Christian (Yolanda), fifteen nieces and nephews: Terrence Pendleton, Shawnda Toler, Wilmon “AJ” Christian III, Lorenzo Christian Jr., Michael Christian Jr., Ryan Christian, Brandon Christian, Asia Southerland, Wendell Holmes, Chelsea Christian, Kayla Christian, Brent Christian, Ashland Christian, Alexia Lee and Glen “G” Christian Jr., as well as one very special friend, Agnes Williams and a host of other family, friends and colleagues. We will truly miss her smile and that unique little laugh she had. Although we are sad to see her go we give God the glory for her life and the love she shared with all.
