Mary Ellen Rose

Mary Ellen Rose, 74, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 after a courageous battle with the coronavirus. She was the daughter of the late John Joseph Lyons and Mary Helen Walsh Lyons of Boson, Massachusetts. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lloyd Rose; and sisters, Marjorie Piers and Kathleen Rose. Mary is survived by her children, Thomas A. Rose, Sr. (Darlene), William J. “Billy” Rose (Jennifer), and Kevin P. Rose (Kelly); grandchildren, Thomas A. Rose, Jr., Tabitha Rose, and Austin Hartman Rose; sister, Theresa Humphries; great-grandchildren, Mason Rose and Ryan Rose; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was an amazing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who would do anything for her family and loved ones. She was a woman filled with loyalty, strength, love, and wisdom. Mary was always willing to help anyone in any situation. She contributed a lot of her time to charities until her rheumatoid arthritis prohibited her ability to continue. Despite battling severe rheumatoid arthritis, she never complained and always maintained a positive attitude with a smile on her face. Mary’s love for bingo, Christmas, QVC, wrestling and baseball were definitely her signature traits, but the love she gave her family was undeniable. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 25 at 1:00pm at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. A reception will take place immediately following the service at the Sandston Moose Lodge, located at 4505 Oakley’s Lane, Richmond, Va. 23231. The memorial service will be livestreamed at the link below. The family would like to say Thank You to Mary Rose Lawson from Senior’s First Choice for her assistance with Mary’s home care, the New Kent Rescue Squad, and all of her doctors and nurses at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Hospital who fought tirelessly to take care of her.
