Mary Solecki Kurdziel

Mary Anna Solecki Kurdziel, 93, of West Point, VA., passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at Regional Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Phillips, Wisconsin to the late Phillip and Victoria Kubas Solecki. Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she loved her church and church family. She was active in the church life both teaching Sunday school and helping with church projects. She retired from Leggett Department store after 20 years of service as the head of the sportswear department. After her retirement she continued to work part-time at Leggett until she started a new career. Mary was a care giver to over 50 families taking care of both children and adults. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew James Kurdziel; a son William Phillip Kurdziel, daughters Antenette K. Mihalcoe, Millie K. Fiorella; son-in-laws Andrew Mihalcoe, Jack Fiorella, Alton Adams; a grandson John F. Roane, III; two sisters Millie Dorish, Ann Sansom; two brothers Leo and Emanuel Solecki. Mary loved her family and all of their visits. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Adams, Victoria Elizabeth Roane (John); a son James Andrew Kurdziel (June); a sister Betty Stanke; grandchildren Joey Michalcoe, Susie French, Michael Mihalcoe, Milly Martin (Michael), Viki Malechek, Jill Ray (Rick), Jackie Fiorella, Jr. (Karen), Donna Bogue (Tim), Debra Keathley, Anthony Fiorella, Jimmy Michalcoe (Tammy), Thomas Lee Adams (Jennifer), Sharon Lynne Griffith (Richard), Gary Phillip Adams (Elizabeth), Mark Anthony Roane (Charlene), Robin Kurdziel Gardner (Mark); great-grandchildren, Becky and Brian, Andrea (Kenneth), Jonathan (Raina), Joseph (Stephanie), Kelly (Rosa), Michael, Jr. (Beth), Heather, Scott, Carter, Michael, Jr, Cory, Alex, Ian, Kristy, Angela, Shannon (Juston), Angela (Kevin), Amber (Derrick), Crystal, Melissa, Michelle, Cassandra, Brittany, Kari, Brandon, Andrew, Chad, Katie, Nicholas, Lucas, Tony, Tina, Amber, James, Joshua and Emma; great-great grandchildren, Drew, Macie, Alexander, Kailah, Winter, Sarah, Elizabeth, McKenzie, Ava Grace, Caleb, Courtney, Annie, Emilie, Mari, Dillan, Haley, Jeremiah Miles, Mason, Riley, Dakota, Aden, and Aubrey. A funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7th in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3570 King William Avenue, West Point, VA. Burial will follow in St. Theresa cemetery.
