Sarah Latney King

On Sunday, November 24, 2019, Sarah Ann Latney King, entered into eternal rest at Memorial Regional Hospital in Mechanicsville, VA. At an early age she accepted Christ, was baptized and joined Jerusalem Baptist Church of Sparta, VA. She graduated from Union High School in Caroline County, VA in 1947.She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Isaac L. King, Jr., on March 27, 1948 and to this union, four children were born: Jackie, Alice, Beryl and Isaac King III. Throughout her life she loved working for the Lord and was faithfully dedicated to His service. She was involved in many church and civic organizations including, Vacation Bible School, Deaconess Ministry, President Pastor's Aid Ministry, Young Adult Choir, Jerusalem Little Angels Choir, King & Queen Volunteer Rescue Squad, Volunteer County Polling, JBC Church Nurse's Ministry, and senior choir director. She was also a proprietor for I.H. King Store for 60+ years. She loved her family, community, helping others, cooking, serving, singing, raising children and coordinating family gatherings and events. She also stayed up with the latest music, trends and current events. Sarah leaves to cherish her memory four children, Jacqueline (Devoted son-in-law John) Robinson, Alice King, Beryl King and Isaac (Teresa) King III; her joy and laughter found from her grandchildren, Stephanie (Marc) Dabney, Keith (Ebony) King whom she raised as a son, John (Crystal) Robinson, Jr., Tierra Perkins and Damion Berry; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jorden Johnson, Keith King, Jr., Kerry Adkins Jr., Monica Lambert, John Robinson III, and Shaniyah Dabney. She also leaves behind two brothers, Aaron and Lewis Latney; two sisters, Mary-Joyce Roane and Doris Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Clara (Spencer) Williams and Lenora Dabney. With so much love to give, Sarah filled her life with her extended family of children, Deborah (Anthony) Brooks, Letitia Latney, Susie Lambert, Brenda Minor, Wilbert Davis, Tameka Davis, Owen and Shameka Coleman, Joshua Spain, Ashley (Chris) Hunter-Reese, Fabian (Ashley) Hunter and Nicholas and William Yarborough, Michael and Mario Minor, Nicholas and Ryan Townes and Michelle Lambert. God blessed Sarah with the gift of love and care for all. She was the Matriarch of the family and Positive Pillar within her community. She will be missed by all. A Funeral service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, Nov. 30th, 2019 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Rd, Bowling Green, VA 22427. The family will receive friends Friday, November 29, 2019 from 6pm-8pm at the church.
