Carmen "Nickie" Christian

July 10, 1958 - March 11, 2019

Carmen Justine Christian, affectionally known as “Nickie”, was born on July 10, 1958 in Richmond, Virginia; to the late Russell and Pearl Miles (Crawley) Christian of Charles City, Virginia. She was called home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2019. She was preceded in death by her brother, Otis Crawley; sister, Pearl (Crawley) Wise and her devoted cousin and best friend, Deborah (Pokey) Jones. Nickie joined Gilfield Baptist Church at an early age and became a choir member. She attended Charles City County Public Schools and was employed at Hudson Industries of Richmond, Virginia; as a Line Leader. She was a dedicated mother, sister, caregiver, aunt and godmother. She loved singing and enjoyed attending special events for her nieces, nephews, godchildren and family members. Nickie enjoyed making her special dishes for cookouts and family events. She had a passion for Mudd Boggs and she WAS A DIE-HARD DALLAS COWBOYS FAN!!!! Nickie leaves to cherish her memory; her loving daughter, Chanell Christian, sisters; Lola Fitzgerald, Betty (Charlie) Robinson, Janet (Robert) Cotman, Bridget (Welton) Robinson, Daryl Smith, V. Cookie (Charles) Wallace, brothers; Maurice Crawley, Irving (Elaine) Paige and Calvin Crawley (Vickie); Godson, La’Vonte Crawley, Goddaughter, Cameron Jones. Master Makai (Peanut) Winfield, and her dedicated cousin and friend Deborah (Dukey/Fluke) Charity. Aunts; Norris (Beecher) Crawley, Shirley Christian and Clarice Christian, Uncle; Jesse (Inga) Christian of Arlington, Virginia, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends. A funeral service will be held 1PM, Tuesday, March 19, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. A viewing will go from 12 noon-5pm Monday. Interment to follow in Gilfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Charles City, VA.
