"Chad" Raymond Charles Farr III

October 31, 1970 - March 23, 2022

Raymond Charles “Chad” Farr III, 51, of Toano VA, passed away after a courageous battle with lymphoma Wednesday March 23, 2022. Chad was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in Virginia, in Norfolk and Seaford. Chad graduated from York High School {Yorktown, VA} in 1988 where he was a member of the championship debate team and was the manager for the York High Falcons basketball team. After graduation, he went on to attend Radford University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Chad parlayed his love of science and technology and built a career as a highly-skilled and sought-after technical writer and consultant to the pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing industry. He truly loved his work and all the people he worked with. Chad greatly enjoyed meeting people and asking them about their families. He never met a stranger. Chad enjoyed watching UVA college football, listening to music, especially his favorite band U2, fishing, and going camping with his sons and his Village Green crew in St. Mary’s Wilderness. He especially loved taking Taryn to Father-Daughter dances and watching her dance in the Nutcracker. We will miss him immensely but know that through our faith in the Lord we will see him again. Chad is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 20 years, Heather Farr; his three children, Rory, Rex and Taryn Farr; his parents, Ray and Joan Farr; his brother, Ben Farr (Chelsea); two brothers-in-law, Eddie Watkins (Wanda) and Kevin Watkins (Anisa); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday March 26th at Liberty Baptist Church, Lanexa VA, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140, with a Masonic rights service starting at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the James City-Bruton Rescue Squad, PO Box 321, Toano VA 23168.
