Charles "Butch" Dixon Sr.

Charles G. “Butch” Dixon, Sr., 76, passed away March 5, 2022. Born May 26, 1945 to the late Emmett and Catherine Dixon, Butch had a 44-year career at the West Point paper mill before retiring in 2009. “Trigger”, as he was often called, gladly served the West Point community for 35 years as a volunteer with the West Point Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, but always made time to play golf, watch Nascar, and be with family. Butch is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Gayle Dixon; two sons, Chuck Dixon (Theresa) and Keith Dixon; granddaughter, Shelby Dixon Smith (Nicholas); sister, Rita Ames (Lewis); twin brother, Don Hogge (Linda); and his beloved dog, Bentley. A celebration of Butch’s life will be held 2 PM, Saturday, March 12th at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th St., West Point, VA.
