Coreta Ann Preston passed away peacefully on December 26, 2018 and was ushered away to meet the Lord. Ann finally found peace and rest from the many illnesses which had plagued her for years. She was born on April 1, 1930 in Warrenton, Virginia. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Preston, Jr. and her son, Larry, as well as her parents and two brothers. Ann is survived by her sons, Edward (Marsha) and Anthony (Janice); grandchildren, Crystal Carley (Mike), Jessica Tinker (Biff) and Jason Preston (Emily); and two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Mona Tinker. Ann was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, VA. She loved to cook and prepare decorative cakes and pies. She could lavishly decorate her house and herself for any holiday or event. Ann had a love for horses and Saint Bernards, and had many of each over the years. She was never shy when it came to meeting folks and she could command the attention of any room with her wit and sense of humor. We will miss her greatly. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Tsena Commocko Baptist Church in Providence Forge, VA. The service will be followed by a reception at the church for family and friends. The interment will be privately held by the family.
