Douglas W. “Hill” Adkins, 58, of Charles City, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, May 30, 2021. Doug was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He was a nature lover, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Doug was a highly accomplished welder. He was a member of Samaria Baptist Church and the Chickahominy Indian Tribe. Doug was a loving husband to his wife, and a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Adkins. Doug is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kimberly “Chico” Adkins; his father, David Adkins; his sister, Sue Adkins (Jeremy); three brothers, Charles Adkins (Jennifer), Glenn Adkins (Alicia), Michael Adkins (Karla); his mother-in-law, Bertha Cannada (Clifford); brother-in-law, Warren Cannada (Esther); sister-in-law, Lynn Adkins (Preston); and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4th at Samaria Baptist Church Cemetery (8130 Lott Cary Road, Providence Forge, VA) Because of Doug’s love for the Steelers, anyone planning on attending the service is free to wear black and gold to represent the Steeler Nation; please also bring a lawn chair for seating, if desired.
