Frederick "Googie" Carlyle Kuester Jr.

December 3, 1946 - September 11, 2021

Frederick “Googie” Carlyle Kuester, Jr., of Quinton,VA, passed away peacefully during one of his naps while watching his beloved buck bucks in one of his many resting spots he created around the Kuester Compound. He is survived by his wife, Alice Kuester, and his children, Stephen Louis Kuester, his wife, Jeslyn, Eva Kuester Hogge, her husband, Shawne, and Matthew Frederick Kuester, and his wife Julianna, who will eternally cherish all of his encouragement, love, boundless support, and his wonderful sense of humor. His grandchildren, Neal, Jacob, Audrey & Addie will forever carry the best memories he created with them. He is also survived by his brother, Theodore Kuester and his wife Robin, along with many loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones the world over whom he treasured and adored. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick (Pappa Freddie) Carlyle Kuester, Sr. of Richmond, VA and Mona (Nanny) Ellen Kuester of Trinidad and Tobago and his sister Marie Collins and her husband Charles Collins. He grew up in Sandston, VA and graduated from Highland Springs High School. From there he joined the Air Force where he served four years. He eventually went to work for C&P Telephone (Verizon) where he retired after 36 years. He has always been active and involved with family, friends, volunteer work, and his many hobbies. Most recently he had been spending much time with Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion, riding his Harley Davidson and driving his newly acquired Corvette, which took the place of his love for flying his Ultralite Challenger that he had built himself. He had a great love for animals, mostly his own. He spent countless hours catering to and entertaining his chickens, pigs, goats and sneaking treats to his big ole dog, Uncle Hoke. Rarely did he ever miss breakfast with his buddies on Friday mornings at Cold Harbor Restaurant. We are so grateful for the time that he gave us but not a day will go by that we will not wish for more. Our lives will never be the same and his absence has left a huge void in all of us. His big, fun loving personality was contagious. Whether he was taking Stephen, Matthew and their friends out to race motocross, or always indulging them in their musical dreams or hauling Eva to her many horse shows or pushing her into extreme adventures. He put as much love and effort into their friends and loved ones and treated them as his own which has left an everlasting impression on them all. His funeral service will be held 11am, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Vincent’s Funeral Home in Providence Forge, VA and graveside will follow at Washington Memorial Cemetery in Sandston , VA. All are welcome to join his family at the VFW Post 9808, 7168 Flag Lane in Mechanicsville, VA following the services. In lieu of flowers, they ask that donations be made to Lonesome Dove Equestrian Center, PO Box 1346, Powhatan, VA 23139 and/or Liberation Veteran Services, 1201 Hull St, Richmond, VA 23224.
