James “Hoppy” Shiflett, 79, of New Kent, VA passed away October 20, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Lottie Dudley Shiflett and a son Stacy Shiflett. Hoppy is survived by a son Dennis Shiflett; and his grandchildren Caleb, Madelyn and Tyler Shiflett. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 30th at New Kent Middle School, 7501 Egypt Road, New Kent, VA 23124, with a reception of friends following the service until 6p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to New Kent Fire & Rescue at PO Box 209 New Kent, VA 23124 or Richmond Animal Care & Control, 1600 Chamberlayne Ave, Richmond, VA 23222.
