Rosa Lee Brown

April 28, 1942 - March 28, 2021

Rosa Banks Brown fondly known as “Teenie” was born on April 28, 1942 to the late John and Elizabeth Banks and departed this life on March 28, 2021. Teenie was baptized at Parrish Hill Baptist Church at an early age, attended school in Charles City County and graduated from Ruthville High School. In the past, Teenie was employed by Phillip Morris, USA and worked in the Wrigley’s Chewing Gum Division. She also lived and worked in Washington, DC for several years, but her most rewarding jobs were being a dedicated homemaker, a stay at home Mom and providing daycare/babysitting services for her two sweeties, as she called them, Christopher and Jessica Hill. Before her health failed, Teenie’s favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and friends, fishing and just having fun; so much fun, that whenever she came to Charles City, she never knew when or wanted to go home (back to Richmond). She was also known for those way after midnight phone calls to family and friends!!! She was always very outgoing, so full of life and it was a joy to be in her presence. Teenie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Brown, Sr., her brothers, Nathaniel, James and Phillip Banks and her only sister, Julia Banks Adkins. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted son, Richard Brown, Jr.; five brothers, John, George, Sr. (Carolyn), William (Marion), Ronald (Voshella) and Edward Banks, Sr. (Ella). Two sisters-in-law who were like sisters, Doris and Beatrice Banks. She also leaves to cherish her memories, a host of nieces, two devoted, Patrice Hill and Darlene Adkins, nephews, cousins and friends. A walk through viewing will be held 5PM to 7PM Thursday April 1, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. **The family thanks you for your love and support and they request that you please omit sending flowers**
