Wayne Morris Crawley Sr.

August 11, 1950 - February 14, 2022

The first and only Son of the late Goldie M. Piatt (Crawley), Wayne M. Crawley Sr. was born on August 11, 1950 in Richmond, VA. He graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School in 1967 and went on to join the Army and Navy. He proudly served his country for several years until he was honorably discharged. Wayne was a proud Vietnam Veteran who lived a very colorful and full life that was made complete by his family; especially his grandkids and great nieces. He was undoubtedly the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan on earth and didn’t have a problem repping his boys win or lose. He enjoyed the simple life; long drives to the mountains, lengthy conversations about the latest news stories, fishing on the river, venturing out to local restaurants, and loving up on his family until the very end. The license plate border around his plates read “Vietnam Veteran Leave Me Alone” and if you disturbed his peace you would definitely feel the wrath. Wayne had several health challenges during his life. However, he never allowed them to impede upon him living his very best life. In honor of Wayne, we, his family, charge you to do the very same; live your very best life! A funeral service will be held 1PM Monday, February 21, 2022 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. Burial to follow in Gilfield Baptist Church Cemetery, 6640 Church Ln, Charles City, VA 23030. *The family respectfully requests the following* **If you are exhibiting any form of COVID-19 symptoms, please consider attending the Celebration of Life for Wayne to be held on a future date in lieu of the service. **Please wear masks during the service.** **In honor of Wayne, please wear your favorite football team’s jersey or shirt.** *Services for Mr. Crawley will be livestreamed at the following link, beginning 10 minutes prior to the service: https://vimeo.com/event/825142 **If we experience technical difficulties, please note that we will work on getting the recorded video online in the coming days. Thank you**
