Desiree Brianna Dabney

Desiree Brianna Dabney suddenly departed this life for her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Desree was born on March 14, 1994, to Calvert W. Dabney and the late Taryn Stokes Dabney at Riverside Medical Center, Newport News, VirginIa. She grew up in King and Queen County, Virginia and Gloucester County, VA. Desiree received the Lord as her personal Savior in 2005 at the age of 11 and was baptized with her sister Kiana by Pastor A.K. Roane at Escobrook Baptist Church, Mascot, Virginia. She attended King and Queen Elementary School in King and Queen, VA. and later attended Bethel Elementary School, Peasley Middle School, and Gloucester High School, all in Gloucester, Virginia. She graduated from Gloucester High School in 2012. While at Gloucester High School, she was active in the ROTC program, Culinary Arts, and the school chorus. During her summers while in high school, Desiree worked full time at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia. It was her first employment experience. In 2015, Desiree completed Divinely Inspired Nursing Institute program in Gordonsville, Virginia and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She then worked for Home Instead Senior Care in Charlottesville, Virginia. While in Charlottesville, she also volunteered with the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA. After moving back to the Tidewater area, she worked for Commonwealth Senior Living in Gloucester, VA and in Chesapeake, VA. Desiree loved to cook, make interesting art, listen to music, sing, and spend time with her father, her sister Kiana, and her two closest aunts, Catrina and Colette. Her closest family will never forget the light in her eyes, her joyful laughter, her beautiful smile, and her loving heart. Left to cherish her memory are her father, Calvert W. Dabney of Little Plymouth, Va; one sister, Kiana Dabney of King and Queen, Va; four aunts, Catrina Dabney and Colette Dabney of Charlottesv0ille, VA, Sheila Stokes of New Orleans, LA and Deborah Screen of Hampton, VA; one uncle, Terrance Stokes (Dawn) of New York; five great aunts, Lucille Ward of New York, Vernice S. Dabney of Little Plymouth, VA, Janice Smith (Lance) of New York, Beverly Harris of New York, Jean Monroe of New York; one great Uncle, Michael Ward (Sharon) of New York; two special cousins, Tiffany Ward of New York and Monty Ward (Marie) of New York. Also, one close girlfriend, Melissa Brown and a host of cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held 1PM, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Escobrook Baptist Church. A viewing will be held from 5pm-8pm, Friday, September 1, 2023, at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181.
