Michael Ray Rogers

Michael Ray Rogers, age 74, of King & Queen, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Pulaski, Virginia, and spent his childhood between Pulaski and Lakeside, Richmond, VA. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Rogers; his mother, Hazel (Hancock) Rogers; his stepmother, Faye Rogers; his father-in-law, Earle Bradbury; and his mother-in-law, Toby Bradbury. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kristine Rogers; his son, Michael Rogers, Jr.; his daughters, Brandi Rogers and Shannon Rogers; his brother, Benny Rogers (wife, Lang Rogers); his sister, Joanne Rogers Lloyd; and his six beloved grandchildren: Desiree Arce, Emma Davis, Bethany Davis, Teagan Rogers, Bentley Rogers, Gunnar Featherall, and two nieces, Tori Rogers and Elizabeth Rogers. Michael was a devoted family man known for his selflessness, love, and unwavering support for his family. He valued family above all else, and his jovial personality never failed to bring joy to those around him. His tender heart shone brightly in the presence of his loved ones. Michael instilled the values of hard work, loyalty, and love into his children, exemplifying what it meant to be a dedicated father and husband. In his professional life, Michael started his career painting cars where he was known for his exceptional attention to detail and precision. He then spent 35 years as a machine operator at Philip Morris USA, retiring after a long and successful career. Michael had a passion for finding beauty in all things, whether through photography, poetry, or simply enjoying the serene sunsets at Lake Gaston. He was a man who truly appreciated life's small moments and shared that joy with everyone he met. Despite battling cancer and other physical challenges in his later years, Michael remained a fighter until the end, never complaining and always striving to be there for his family and friends. His strength and resilience serve as an inspiration to all who knew him. Michael will be deeply missed by all who loved him. While we mourn his passing, we find comfort in the knowledge that this is not goodbye but simply a temporary separation; we look forward to the day we will be reunited in Heaven's light. A private celebration of Michael's life will be held for family and friends.
