Rolando "Ron" Tannoya

Rolando “Ron” Tannoya, lovingly known as Ron, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 15, 2026, at the age of 77. Born in Venezuela, Ron immigrated to the United States at the age of 11, where he built a life defined by hard work, generosity, and an unwavering love for family and friends. As a Class A contractor, there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t build. From backyard decks to bridges, Ron took tremendous pride in creating things that were built to last. He was always open-minded, eager to learn new techniques, and constantly looking for better ways to do things. If a mistake happened, he was the first to laugh it off, learn from it, and make sure the finished product was exactly right. Ron was the person everyone called when they needed help. Whether it was an emergency, a repair, or simply someone to talk to, he was always there without hesitation. His calm wisdom, warm heart, and genuine compassion made people feel comfortable confiding in him. To many, he was not only a trusted friend but also a counselor whose advice came with understanding and encouragement. Wherever Ron went, he brought life with him. His energy, infectious smile, and joyful spirit could brighten any room, no matter its size. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making strangers feel like old friends. His playful sense of humor was legendary, and he delighted in “yanking your chain” whenever the opportunity arose, always leaving people laughing. Nothing brought Ron greater happiness than spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also cherished being out on the water fishing, enjoying the peace and excitement that came with every cast. Ron expressed his love through food. He was happiest gathered around a table with family and friends, preparing authentic Italian and Latino meals that brought everyone together. He loved trying just about anything and had an adventurous appetite, but if there was one thing that could make him forget everything else, it was a bushel of fresh oysters. He would gladly push everything else aside for them. Ron leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, kindness, laughter, curiosity, and love. His generous heart, unwavering willingness to help others, and ability to make everyone feel welcome will never be forgotten. The lessons he taught, the friendships he cherished, the meals he shared, and the joy he brought into every room will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though deeply missed, Ron’s spirit will remain a guiding light for his family and friends, reminding them to work hard, laugh often, keep learning, love generously, and never pass up the chance to share a meal—or a bushel of oysters—with those you love.
